Deoch 'n' Dorus will provide a traditional, yet original Scottish
ceilidh sound to make sure that you have a great night of dancing! You
are guaranteed a professional level of musicianship, as they have played
worldwide and performed with some of the best traditional musicians on
the folk scene.

Simon Moran - Fiddle

Simon
hails from the Isle of Jura. He describes himself as mainly a
west-coast, pipe style fiddler. He gained performing experience with the
Jura Ceilidh Band where he began at the age of 17. Since moving to
Glasgow, he has gained an Honours Degree in Traditional music and toured
all over Scotland and Europe with various musicians including Dougie
MacLean. Outwith Deoch 'n' Dorus, Simon recently joined the folk group
Canterach after making his debut with them at the
Lorient festival in France, 2004.
Stuart Cameron - Accordion

Originally
from Fort
William, Stuart, along
with Simon, graduated with Honours in Traditional music from the RSAMD
in July 2005.
He has enjoyed success on the competition
scene where in 2004 at
Perth, he received first place for both best Scottish
Dance Band and best rhythm section! In 2005 at the Musselburgh festival,
he was awarded 1st place for one of his own compositions. Stuart has
also been a guest artist on the BBC Radio Scotland
programme 'Take the Floor' and
has performed several times at the renowned Accordion & Fiddle festival
in Shetland. He has also performed in Ireland, Norway, Germany and
Denmark.
Andrew MacPherson

Drums & Percussion

Andrew
is from Portree, in the
Isle of Skye
. He also
studied at the RSAMD where he received his honours degree. He plays both
pipe and ceilidh band style drumming. He is also a talented percussionist
and an accomplished bagpiper. He is a full time musician and is also involved
with other musical organizations, namely the National Youth Pipe Band and Feis Nan Gael. Andrew’s versatility has led to him performing across
Europe
.
